Google Web Toolkit with Google App Engine

I played with GWT over a year ago, but since then it's been changing, and not only that but Google now has their App Engine which makes it easy to deploy your own apps. You can combine these two tools and use GWT to write a web app and deploy it using Google App Engine. Furthermore, there's Eclipse plug-ins to make this all doable from Eclipse. Crazy cool. This morning, I installed everything in Eclipse, created a simple app with a map, tested in it Eclipse, and deployed it to the web! And even cooler is you can then map it to your own domain using Google Apps.

website update

I changed up my website! Again! This time, I'm going with the full wordpress rather than just using their blog functionality. I moved the /blog URL and the main site is now using Wordpress. It's pretty awesome, wordpress is so customizable you can actually mask everything to make it look like a regular website even though it's actually one giant blog with 'Pages'. For example, the main page is actually a page on wordpress I created but using a template such that the comments and feedback are disabled, and the sidebar has been removed. Slick. That means I don't have to use dreamweaver, frontpage, etc. I can simply edit everything from the Wordpress administrative dashboard.

I started playing around with it again mainly cause I've been asked to look into revamping the Yale student senate website. I want it to be maintainable by someone who doesn't know much about websites, so Wordpress is the natural solution. Another option would be Moveable Typepad but I haven't used it much.
